For almost 40 years Mr. Hydda “Macky” McPherson has worked both in the public and private sectors as a pest controller. Starting out in the 70s as a young aspiring health inspector, Macky rose up the ranks in his field to eventually become the Acting Chief Director of Public Health at the Ministry of Health in Kingston before finally retiring in 2005. In 2011, he founded Pest Ridders Pest Control Services as a way to continue to serve the public interest by providing pest control services. Applying his vast knowledge in areas such as public health policy, infectious disease, and vector control, Macky set out to make Pest Ridders the premiere pest control and pest management service provider in the western region of Jamaica and islandwide. From having contracts with major hoteliers such as Sandals, to contracts with government entities such as NWC, to residential jobs from home owners, all clients can attest to receive the same high standard of quality care.
